Apple is reportedly working on a smart home doorbell, expected to launch by the end of 2025.

The device will utilize Face ID technology, aligning with Apple’s strategy to expand its presence in the smart home market and enhance its offerings in this growing sector.

The smart doorbell will feature advanced facial recognition capabilities and will wirelessly integrate with home systems, according to Hypebeast. It is expected to unlock doors automatically upon scanning a recognized face, similar to the Face ID functionality on iPhones.

Apple is still evaluating whether to collaborate with existing lock manufacturers or release the product entirely under its own brand. This initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to diversify its portfolio of smart home devices.

Although the product is in the early stages of development, it is projected to hit the market no earlier than late next year. In addition to the doorbell, updates for Apple TV and HomePod are also anticipated in the coming year.
