In addition to Coca-Cola, the recall also affects Fanta, Sprite, and Mezzo Mix.

Coca-Cola’s Austrian subsidiary is recalling approximately 28 million half-liter bottles of its carbonated beverages due to a manufacturing issue. This marks the largest product recall in Austria in at least 25 years, impacting Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, and Mezzo Mix brands.

Coca-Cola HBC Austria reported that a technical fault during production, which damaged a filter, may have allowed small metal particles into the beverages. “It cannot be ruled out that a very small number of half-liter PET bottles may contain small metal particles due to this production issue,” the company stated, advising customers not to consume potentially affected bottles.

The company clarified that not all recalled beverages have been sold; many remain within the company’s facilities or in stores.

The recall applies to all products with a “best before” date ranging from February 4 to April 12, 2025. Coca-Cola assured consumers that other products, packaging, and brands remain unaffected by this recall decision.
