“You feel emotions, but you have to learn to live with it, because I am lucky for my life,” he said. “I still have my amazing family, and my left eye still has some vision. And when you think about it, you just keep walking.”
Elton has long expressed how much he gives importance to his family-her husband David Fernish, and his two sons, 14-year-old Zachari and 12-year-old Eliza.
In an interview with ABC, he went into more detail about the eye infection that changed everything. He said, “I have found an infection to the south of France. I have been four months, because I can see properly, and my left eye is not very well,” he explained. “I hope it will get better, but right now, I am stuck. I can sit and interview, but can go to the studio and record? I don’t know. I can’t watch the song.”
Along with losing the ability to do things that he loved once – reading, watching TV, making music – has been a painful process. Nevertheless, Elton has continued to face it with honesty, flexibility and gratitude.
