Huawei, widely recognized for its mobile devices, is making a bold move into the automotive industry with the launch of its own luxury electric car.

The Maextro S800, developed in collaboration with Chinese automaker JAC, positions itself in the D+ luxury segment, competing with premium brands like Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Maybach. This ultra-luxurious vehicle measures nearly 5.5 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and boasts a wheelbase of 3.37 meters. Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Division, remarked that the car is larger than 99.99% of vehicles currently on the road. The Maextro S800 features advanced autonomous driving capabilities, Milky Way-inspired headlights, and a starlit interior ceiling reminiscent of Rolls-Royce’s signature design.

According to CarNewsChina, the Maextro S800 will be available in two elegant color options: purple-silver and black. Huawei describes the vehicle as a redefinition of ultra-luxury, blending cutting-edge technology with opulent design.

The Maextro S800 was officially revealed on November 26 during the Huawei Mate brand ceremony. Prospective buyers had the opportunity to preview the car at the event, where pre-order prices ranged between 1 to 1.5 million yuan (approximately €130,000 to €196,000). Securing a reservation required an upfront deposit of around 2,600 euros.

Huawei’s foray into luxury automobiles signals its ambition to innovate beyond traditional tech sectors and redefine the future of premium electric mobility.
