Instagram launches private comments feature on posts

Thanks to a new update, Instagram users will now have a better overview of content that their friends appreciate, and will be able to see their reactions while scrolling.

Instagram, one of the most popular social media platforms, is introducing a groundbreaking feature that promises to revolutionize the way we share and discover content. Users will now be able to leave notes directly on posts and Reels.

Previously, the ability to leave a note was available above the profile picture in the top part of the inbox. With the new update, users can create something akin to private comments on posts for their friends.

Additionally, users can choose whether they want their notes to be visible to followers they follow back or just to close friends. Unlike notes in the inbox, which last only 24 hours, notes on posts and Reels will be visible for up to three days. If users prefer not to see notes from their friends in their feed, they can disable this feature in the settings. Currently, these notes are also not visible when using Instagram through a web browser.

This new feature aims to enhance user interaction by providing more personalized and private communication options directly on the content being shared.
