The brand launches a short film along with new footwear and apparel in its iconic grey color.
Grey allows for self-expression, giving space for other colors, accessories, and your personality to shine. Grey has always been an iconic color for New Balance, and throughout May, the brand will celebrate these values under the theme “Grey Days.”
In the 1980s, New Balance intentionally introduced grey as the main color for their running shoes. These grey sneakers stood out among competitors and proved to be the perfect complement to the concrete and asphalt backdrops of urban running.
Soon, people noticed that grey looked good everywhere. While the models have evolved over the years with ever-changing technologies and materials, the grey color continues to embody the timeless quality and style of New Balance in every form.
As a tribute to grey, the brand released a short film titled “Grey Days” on May 10th, honoring New Balance’s pervasive influence on many aspects of global sneaker culture, from sports to streetwear and everything in between.
The film, part of the new American imprint series Haiku, involved creative directors Thom Glover and Daniel Wolfe, along with Elliott Power, cinematographer Norm Lim, meticulously crafted 1960s retro animation by Stray London, and photography by Samuel Bradley.
