The Porsche Taycan GTS has claimed a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous drift on ice by an electric vehicle.
Just days ago, the Porsche Experience team achieved this remarkable feat. Professional driving instructor Jens Richter piloted the Taycan GTS, completing 132 controlled laps on an ice track, covering a total of 17.503 kilometers in just 46 minutes. This shattered the previous record of 14.809 kilometers. The attempt took place on January 14 at the Porsche Arctic Centre in Levi, Finland, under the supervision of an official Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Richter’s success was aided by specialized tires with short studs and the drop in ice temperature after sunset. The Taycan GTS proved its exceptional handling capabilities even in extreme conditions, once again demonstrating its impressive driving performance.
This isn’t the first time the Taycan GTS has made its mark in the Guinness World Records. The model already holds four other records, including achievements related to speed and changes in altitude.
