The gaming company Bethesda has released the long-awaited next-gen update of its game Fallout 4. Expectations in recent days have significantly boosted the success of the Fallout series, which has skyrocketed interest in the entire gaming franchise. However, two years of work on the new update ended in failure. The next-gen update of Fallout 4 is plagued with critical problems.
The IGN portal reports on dissatisfied gaming feedback, of which there is no shortage. Critical issues affect all platforms. For example, the Xbox version of the game contains a bug in the quality mode, where it does not prioritize resolution at the expense of frames per second. Regardless of the chosen mode, the game prioritizes FPS, so Xbox owners can forget about 4K for now.
Players who turned on the game on PS5 fared even worse. The next-gen update was supposed to be available for free to game owners, but this is not the case. Fallout 4 was available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers as part of the generous PS Collection launch package on PS5. However, anyone hoping to update such a version of the game for free will be disappointed. The game asks for a €20 fee for the update.
According to Bethesda, the free update only applies to owners of the PlayStation Plus Extra version, while Bethesda says it has no information about versions of the game in lower PS Plus tiers.
