A new hypersonic plane, currently in the testing phase, is expected to fly at speeds five times faster than the speed of sound.

A revolution in air travel is on the horizon, with the first hypersonic aircraft ready for testing. This cutting-edge technology could reduce the flight time between New York and London to just about one hour.

The now-retired Concorde, once the fastest commercial airplane, still holds the record for the quickest flight between the two cities at 2 hours, 52 minutes, and 59 seconds. According to Ladbible, the prototype of the new aircraft is capable of flying at speeds of around 4,828 km/h—five times the speed of sound. The official distance between New York and London is approximately 5,569 km.

The company behind this groundbreaking innovation is Venus Aerospace. They are currently developing an aircraft called the Venus Detonation Ramjet 2000 lb Thrust Engine. The company hopes to conduct its first test flights as early as next year, with the ultimate goal of making hypersonic travel available for both commercial and defense purposes.
