Instagram tests a new feature: Followers can now publicly respond to your stories

Spread the love

Instagram is gradually rolling out a new feature for its users. This time, it focuses on enhancing daily stories.

The platform is introducing the ability to leave comments on the 24-hour stories, a feature that many people now use more than traditional feed posts.

Previously, responding to a story would send a private message to the person who posted it. Now, according to The Verge, reactions can be seen by all followers. However, there are some limitations. Only people who follow the story’s creator—and are followed back—will be able to comment publicly.

Users will have control over this feature, with the option to enable or disable public story comments for each story they post. While the feature may not be available to everyone immediately, it will be gradually introduced to all Instagram users.

This update follows another recent Instagram feature, which allows users to add a song directly to their profile bio. To do this, users can go to the “Edit Profile” section, search for a track from Instagram’s licensed music library, and select a 30-second clip to feature on their profile.
