The biggest rap feud of recent years continues. After a brief hiatus, Kendrick Lamar is back in the conversation with a track titled “Euphoria” that aims to set the record straight. This song is a response to the singles “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” the latter of which was pulled from streaming due to unauthorized use of AI with 2Pac’s voice.
Some diss tracks force listeners to see an artist in a new light, while others express sentiments that many have long believed but couldn’t articulate themselves. Lamar’s latest release from the pgLang label falls into the latter category.
Throughout the six-minute track, Lamar may not reveal much new information, but the way he directs his focus on Drake paints the Canadian superstar as the “villain.” He provides a comprehensive list of reasons for his disdain, including (likely) a refusal to collaborate and repeated claims that Drake uses ghostwriters, disrespects women, and is a cultural parasite struggling with his identity.
K. Dot repeatedly calls Drake a “master manipulator” in the track, stating, “Don’t tell no lie about me, and I won’t tell truths about you,” hinting that he has more bars ready just like Champagne Papi does in “Push Ups,” where he mentioned Kendrick’s wife’s name.
We must also mention other bars where Lamar tells Drake that he hasn’t released a rap classic: “Yeah, my first one like my last one, it’s a classic, you don’t have one. Let your core audience stomach that. Didn’t tell ’em where you get your abs from,“ alebo aby prestal používať slovo ni**a: „We don’t wanna hear you say ‘nigga’ no more. Stop.“
A much more personal part of the song has Lamar talking about raising his son, highlighting the fact that Drake hid his own son, Adidon: “Why would I try to call around and try to get dirt on you? You think my life is rap? That’s ho shit. I got a son to raise. But I can see you don’t know nothin’ ‘bout that.“
Check out this juicy new release full of sharp lines, and let us know in the comments which of these star performers is currently leading in this beef.
