King Charles III to arrive in Sydney for his 17th visit to Australia

He will be welcomed by the Prime Minister and senior officials.


King Charles III is set to arrive in Australia on Friday, marking one of his most demanding international trips since being diagnosed with cancer in February, according to AFP.

The reigning British monarch last visited the country in 2011, accompanying his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

After a 20-hour flight, King Charles will land in Sydney, where he will be greeted by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and other high-ranking officials. In his honor, the royal flag will be raised at various government buildings, and images from his previous 16 visits to Australia will be projected on the Sydney Opera House.
