Manchester City, who achieved a treble victory, have officially submitted a bid of £90 million for Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham.
However, negotiations surrounding Rice’s future have intensified, with Arsenal expected to make a third bid for the 24-year-old English midfielder.
West Ham had previously rejected Arsenal’s initial offer of £75 million in four installments, plus an additional £15 million in add-ons.
City’s offer is believed to include an initial payment of £80 million but falls short of the £100 million that West Ham desires.
Sources suggest that discussions regarding Rice’s transfer are reaching their final stages, and it is likely that an agreement will be reached with either City or Arsenal.
While City has lined up a £25 million deal for Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic, the departure of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona has prompted manager Pep Guardiola to seek further options to strengthen the midfield.
Rice, who led West Ham to victory in the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina, is considered the ideal candidate.
