
Pope Francis, who is hospitalized with bilateral pneumonia, is showing symptoms of recovery, according to the Vatican.
The 88 -year -old Pontif has been in the hospital for more than two weeks, and his condition remains stable, the Vatican confirmed on Saturday evening. However, the authorities refused to provide a forecast. According to a statement, Pope Francis was able to spend most of the day without mechanical ventilation, which he was initially necessary, the AP report.

On Friday, after the days of cautious optimism, the Pope suffered a bronchospasm episode, requiring non-active mechanical ventilation and aspirations to clean its airways.
By Saturday morning, the press office of the Vatican reported that he spent another peaceful night. The evening update confirmed that he did not experience signs of bronchospasm, fever, or new infections. He was able to go without a ventilator mask for an extended period, instead using only high-flower oxygen.
Vatican said, “The holy father is alert and is fully aware of his surroundings.” He also received the echoist in the afternoon and spent 20 minutes to pray in a private hospital chapel near his room.
Doctors said that they would need 24 to 48 hours to assess their position after Friday’s episode. While their condition is no longer classified as important, medical experts have warned that, given their health history, they are not yet out of danger.
