Tesla’s factory in Grunhyde near Berlin, supplies 37 markets across Europe and employs 11,000 people. Despite a 76% decline in sales in Germany in February, the company has no plans to shut down the plant.

The American electric vehicle manufacturer believes that its grunhide plant will flourish despite a recent decline in sales in Germany. According to the DPA news agency, the plant is considered the most modern car factory in Europe.

Tesla’s three years in Grunhyde

Tesla officially opened its granuit factory three years ago. According to data from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (Craftfart-Bundesamat, KBA), Tesla’s sales in Germany again fell again in February, despite the overall increase in new electric vehicles on the country’s roads. Only 1,429 new Tesla vehicles were registered, with a decline of more than 76%year-on-year.

Tesla’s sales in Germany also dropped by about 60% in January. Many observers, the owner of Tesla, credits this decline for the political activities of Elon Musk. Musk, a close aide of US President Donald Trump, attracted significant criticism in Germany when he supported the option for the Germany (AFD) party, which is considered far-fetched before the February parliamentary elections.
