Tesla customers have been voicing their dissatisfaction for months, claiming that their new Cybertrucks are being delivered in less-than-perfect condition. Specifically, many report receiving vehicles covered in dirt and mud, which is especially disappointing given the high price tag of these electric trucks.
“It definitely wasn’t as clean as a $100,000 vehicle should be,” said Bill Walsh in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Walsh picked up his Cybertruck in April and was surprised by the condition of the vehicle.
Many customers report similar issues, with some vehicles having dirty floors and dusty interiors. “The inside was covered in muddy handprints, and there was even an empty Red Bull can in the driver’s seatback pocket,” shared a member of the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.
Other frustrated customers believe that their vehicles were driven before delivery, with someone failing to clean up afterward. “Mine looked like it had been off-roading. There was mud on the tires and inside the cabin. But according to the service center, most of them look like this because they’re transported by rail and truck,” another unhappy customer commented.
While the issue may seem minor, the unique polygonal design of the Cybertruck makes cleaning a time-consuming task. Additionally, the stainless steel exterior is notoriously difficult to maintain, as it shows every fingerprint and smudge, further complicating the ownership experience.
