The beloved bear and jam enthusiast Paddington will see a continuation of his story. This time, he will return to his Aunt Lucy in Peru.
Nearly seven years after the release of the last film, Paddington 2, another installment is coming to theaters. Sony, through its Columbia Pictures brand, has taken it under its wing. It will premiere in the United Kingdom at the end of this year and in the USA in mid-January 2025.
In the third installment, Paddington will return to visit his Aunt Lucy, who lives in a bear retirement home. Along with the Brown family, he will embark on an adventure from the Amazon rainforest to the peaks of the mountains in Peru.
The trailer for the third part revealed new characters that Paddington will meet on his adventurous journey. One of them is a nun voiced by Olivia Colman. In the film, she plays the guitar and works in the bear retirement home.
Another new role will be played by Antonio Banderas as a ship captain. Hugh Bonneville returns as Mr. Brown, and Emily Mortimer will now lend her voice to Mrs. Brown. Imelda Staunton remains as Aunt Lucy, and Julie Walters will once again lend her voice to Mrs. Bird.
In the first film, we learned how Paddington found his home in London. In the second, the bear almost lost it, but we learned more about his origins. According to director Dougal Wilson, the third film should focus on the place where he was born.
