Kim Jones paid tribute to designer Massimo Osti, and the result is perfect.
This morning, Dior’s management unveiled a new collection that has us excited. The fashion house’s creative director, Kim Jones, has designed a collection in collaboration with the Italian brand Stone Island, worn by celebrities like Jason Statham, Drake, and many others.
The capsule collection combines utilitarian and technical elements with rich embellishments inspired by the archives of the French icon. It is a tribute to Christian Dior and Massimo Osti (the founder of Stone Island) and their shared passion for the perfection of processes and the shapes of clothing.
Throughout his tenure at Dior, British designer Kim Jones regularly collaborates with prominent names in fashion, art, and pop culture. Notable collaborations include Travis Scott, Kaws, Supreme, Birkenstock, Jordan Brand, and now Stone Island. These partnerships allow Jones to explore current fashion trends and the intersection of luxury and streetwear. This latest collaboration is no exception.
Jones blends functional military codes with haute couture and tailoring traditions in a series of dyed silhouettes and accessories – from the utilitarian look of vests and shorts to low-top sneakers made of cotton satin with Dior Oblique pattern quilting and round bags featuring Stone Island’s iconic compass motif.
Each piece is crafted from premium materials, utilizing dyeing, texturing, and embroidery techniques characteristic of both brands. They are marked with the logos and symbols of both Dior and Stone Island. If you’re interested in products from the Dior and Stone Island collaboration, don’t think too long. On July 4th, be ready to act fast. Most items will sell out quickly and will appear with high markups on reseller platforms.
