The highly anticipated action film “Borderlands” is heading to theaters.

Fans will finally see the long-awaited action film nearly nine years after its announcement. “Borderlands” will hit theaters on August 9, 2024.

Lionsgate Movies unveiled the long-anticipated trailer for “Borderlands” today at the IGN Live conference. The film is based on one of the most popular video games in history.

The plot follows Lilith (Cate Blanchett) as she returns to Pandora to find the daughter of the powerful Atlas (Edgar Ramirez), teaming up with a band of misfits along the way, as reported by gamesradar.com. The film stars Kevin Hart, Gina Gershon, and Cate Blanchett, and is directed by Eli Roth. The movie, inspired by the video game, was first announced in 2015. After nearly nine years, fans will finally see it in theaters on August 9, 2024.

The creators finished filming in 2021.
