The front end of the new Ferrari 12Cylinder (simply 12-cylinder) bears much resemblance to the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. In any case, you have before you the new flagship of the Italian stable, which is the most powerful serial model of the brand with a purely combustion engine, without any electrified support. Its twelve-cylinder engine has a displacement of 6.5 liters, revving up to almost 10 thousand revolutions per minute and producing 830 horsepower. Additionally, Ferrari unveiled the 12Cylinder Spider alongside the coupe.

It is quite unusual that Ferrari did not leave space for two major premieres and, along with the coupe, also unveiled the open version with a solid folding roof, the 12Cylinder Spider. And we already have prices. The base version is available in Italy for 395 thousand euros, while for the model with a more airy interior, you will pay at least 435 thousand euros.

For the stated amounts, you get the F140HD twelve-cylinder engine placed behind the front axle, derived from a special version of the 812 Competizione. It has 830 horsepower and a maximum torque of 678 newton-meters, and thanks to titanium pistons (reducing weight by 40 percent) and other lightweight components, it is capable of revving up to the limit of 9500 revolutions per minute.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and Ferrari says that with this setup, the 12Cylinder is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.9 seconds, doubling the pace in 7.9 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 340 kilometers per hour.

The Spider is slightly slower. It reaches 100 kilometers per hour in 2.95 seconds and achieves 200 kilometers per hour in 8.2 seconds. Just for completeness, we add that the fully closed car has a dry weight without fluids of 1560 kilograms (with a weight distribution ratio of 48.3% front and 51.7% rear) and the Spider 1620 kilograms.

Neither of the two cars has overly protruding spoilers on the body, yet their downforce is astonishing. The trick lies in active aerodynamic elements working in the range from 60 to 300 kilometers per hour. The floor is smoothed to utilize the Venturi effect, there are louvres behind the front wheels to reduce pressure in the engine compartment, and at the front, you will find several other actively controlled flaps.

For agility, the 12Cylinder received a 20 mm shorter wheelbase compared to its predecessor (so it has 2700 mm), and you will also find standard rear-wheel steering, which can control each wheel separately. Also interesting is that the car can be equipped with either Michelin Pilot Sport S5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires, but in both cases, you will always get the same diameter discs front and rear – 21 inches, with front tires having a width of 275 mm and rear 315 mm.
