The popular Assassin’s Creed series has undergone a transformation in recent years. Moving from more intimate streets to expansive worlds, RPG elements are becoming increasingly prominent. However, with the latest title, Mirage, the series has returned to a smaller scale while also revisiting its roots. Insider-Gaming now informs us of a leak revealing the direction the series will take in the next installment.

It is set to take place in the Holy Roman Empire, set in the 16th century, focusing on the witch hunts, with the main protagonist being Elsa. For the first time in the series, horror elements will be introduced, and the protagonist will gain supernatural abilities, such as controlling a cat to distract enemies.

Additionally, the new installment is expected to reintroduce the fear system, which we previously saw in the Jack the Ripper expansion for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. This likely means various options for spreading terror among enemies and monitoring the chaos caused. Insider-Gaming also informs that the game will be more linear than previous titles and, upon its release in 2026, will be part of the Assassin’s Creed Infinity platform.

This can be imagined similarly to the launch menu of new Hitman or Call of Duty games, bringing together all new games like Hexe, Red, and Invictus under one roof. At the same time, it will include many Live Service elements, such as a store with various cosmetic items, Battle Pass, and the option to purchase expansion packs for all included games.
