
A group of teenagers exploited AI to get illegal access to telecom networks.
According to local authorities and media reports quoted by AFP, the Japanese police have arrested three teenagers accused of using a chat to create fake mobile phone contracts and use chats illegally.
The suspects between the ages of 14 and 16 years developed a program using Chatgpt to generate fake contracts and bare the Breach Rakutane mobile network, reported by Japanese media. The teenagers also bought illegally stolen credit card details, ID cards and passwords online, which they then used – as well as to create a choppat -barjee agreement.
A police spokesman told AFP that two suspects were detained on Tuesday on suspicion of violating the unauthorized computer access law and committing computer fraud. According to Codo News, the group allegedly sold at least 2,500 illegal contracts of about 7.5 million yen (€ 44,800) in Cryptocurrency. Other reports suggest that they received data from more than 3.3 billion identity and password through a contact on Telegram.
Rakutten Mobile’s original company Rakutten issued an official statement warning customers about such scams. “We are fully collaborating with the police investigation, suspended the use of fraud contracts, and implemented password recovery measures,” the company said.
