TikTok is rolling new features for the purpose of safety of young users, although it is not clear which specific markets will first look at these changes.
One of the major updates is a night restriction for underaege users. While they can initially dismiss the prompt, a second, hard-to-round reminder will soon follow.
The goal of these alerts is to help teenagers to identify how late it is and encourages healthy screen habits. In the coming weeks, TikTok plans to enhance this feature with a guided meditation video designed to help young users relax and fall asleep more easily.

In addition to these changes, Tikokok is expanding its family coupling facility, which allows parents to set a ban on their child’s account. The latest additions, time away, will enable the parents to block access to tickets over a few hours and when their child can use the app, the recurring program will be established. Parents will also have the ability to see whom their child follows and in return.
Stephen Balkam, CEO and founder of the family’s online security institute, said, “Ticketkok’s ancestral control and the latest release of online safety equipment is a welcome step to families looking for their children, while also teaching them responsible digital habits.”
