At least four people have lost their lives, and six others have been injured in a devastating wildfire in South -East South Korea. According to the Yonhap news agency, the fire on Sunday forced at least 1,500 residents to withdraw.
Extensive damage and government response
Before spreading to neighboring areas, Sanchong County caught fire on Friday afternoon at Sanchong County, about 250 kilometers from the solometer. Five of the six injured persons are in critical condition. Blaze has already consumed 4,150 hectares of land – an area equal to about 5,811 football areas.
In response, the South Korean government has promised financial assistance to assist the affected areas.
