Even Tyson himself was surprised by the incident, as he entered the room to find his father with a bleeding forehead.
This Saturday, boxing legends Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will face off in what is being called the boxing match of the 21st century. The fighters will compete in the heavyweight division. Originally scheduled for February, the match was postponed due to Tyson’s injury, reports Max MMA.
In one corner stands the undefeated giant from England, Fury, who is also considered the current face of world boxing, and in the other, the technically precise Ukrainian, Usyk. Both fighters boast numerous victories – Fury with 34 and Usyk with 21.
The highly anticipated preparation for the match is intensifying, leading to heightened emotions in some cases. Even Tyson Fury’s father has shown how seriously he takes his son’s fight. John Fury, also known as The Gypsy King, physically attacked a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team. The tension before the match escalated to the point of injury, with Tyson’s father sustaining a head wound that caused bleeding from his forehead.
“They were disrespecting my son, the best heavyweight boxer. They came with all that nonsense and tried to act too smart. They got into my personal space and shouted, ‘Usyk, Usyk.’ I just wanted to chant my son’s name,” said the Gypsy King. Even Tyson himself was surprised by the entire incident.
