Main Event Resembled a Battle from the Iconic Arcade Game Mortal Kombat
The main event of the evening was reminiscent of a fight between characters from the iconic arcade game Mortal Kombat. A Czech samurai adhering to the bushido code faced off against a Brazilian native whose ancestors inhabited the rainforests.
The entrances of both fighters were filled with epic atmosphere. Procházka entered the cage to the refrain “This is how legends are made,” performing a cartwheel and staring intently at his opponent’s empty corner.
Pereira, on the other hand, entered with traditional native instruments, symbolically shooting an arrow into the center of the octagon. Once inside the cage, he never took his eyes off Procházka. Both fighters exchanged icy glares, and the tension was palpable—it was no cliché this time.
From the beginning, Procházka tried to pressure and unsettle the stoic champion. The Brazilian stopped his first attempt with a stiff jab. The Czech fighter charged at Pereira, who countered with his best weapon—a left hook that repeatedly landed on Procházka’s head.
Procházka then pushed Pereira against the fence, but to no avail. By the end of the first round, disaster struck for him. The Brazilian landed another left hook, and Procházka collapsed to the ground with the siren. If the round had lasted 10 seconds longer, the champion would have defended his title in the opening five minutes.
During the one-minute break, Procházka’s trainers tried to revive their fighter. He assured them he was fine. However, he entered the second round still dazed, and Pereira made quick work of him.
After just five seconds, Pereira floored him with a high kick and finished the job with a barrage of ground strikes. Procházka was dazed for several seconds after the finish. Unable to stand on his own, he was supported by the referee and the doctor.
