Actor Lee Jung-jae, who plays Gi-hun in Squid Game, confirmed the new season. He revealed this information to businessinsider.com. The first season was released in 2021, and since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installment.

At the end of January, we reported that the creators planned to release the new season this year, initially estimating a release date between fall and winter 2024. In an interview, Lee Jung-jae disclosed that the new season will be available in December. Netflix has not yet confirmed this information.

The end of the first season left many questions unanswered. Fans hope the continuation will provide answers. They speculate that Gi-hun will seek revenge, potentially uncovering secrets from the elite VIP circle.

After the first season concluded, director Hwang Dong-hyuk received hundreds of questions about the sequel. He admitted feeling immense pressure and felt that fans gave him no other option.
