Apple plans to develop a smart security camera

Apple is setting its sights on the smart home market with an ambitious new plan after setbacks with its autonomous car project and Vision Pro headset.

According to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to launch its own smart security camera in 2026. The device will be fully integrated with the Apple ecosystem, featuring wireless connectivity and leveraging Siri and Apple Intelligence for advanced functionality.

The camera aims to compete with existing solutions from Amazon (Ring) and Google (Nest), both of which already utilize generative AI. Apple’s approach will prioritize security and seamless integration within its ecosystem. Devices like the HomePod or Apple TV may serve as storage hubs for recordings or as platforms for live video streaming.
