Did The Simpsons predict the future again? Nearly 25 years ago, they allegedly foretold Biden’s replacement in the presidential election

Is there any event in American politics that the iconic animated series with yellow characters hasn’t already predicted?

When Joe Biden announced on Sunday that he was withdrawing his presidential candidacy, the internet was instantly flooded with various viral memes, as expected. Among them was a scene from The Simpsons, specifically from the episode titled “Bart to the Future,” which aired as part of the 11th season in 2000.

It didn’t take long for the meme from The Simpsons to go viral. People quickly noticed the striking resemblance between Lisa Simpson and Kamala Harris, the current Vice President, whom the 81-year-old presidential candidate Biden suggested as his replacement after withdrawing his candidacy. During her inauguration in 2021, Kamala Harris wore a purple suit, complemented by pearl earrings and a distinctive silver necklace with pearls. When one thinks of a pearl necklace, Lisa Simpson often comes to mind. However, the similarities do not end there. In the episode released in March 2000, Lisa becomes the President of the United States and wears a similar purple outfit in the White House.

The media had already noticed this striking resemblance back then. The Economic Times, for instance, recalled a comment from Yeardley Smith, the American voice actress for Lisa: “I would really like to believe that Kamala Harris was subtly referencing Lisa Simpson with her outfit yesterday.

The question remains whether Kamala Harris will take her place in the White House just like Lisa did in that episode. The often-mentioned reference to Donald Trump becoming president also appeared in this episode and came true in 2016.
