Fans of the beloved animated musical Frozen can look forward to the third installment, set to hit theaters in 2027.
Disney’s Chief Creative Officer, Jennifer Lee, recently unveiled concept art for the highly anticipated sequel. The artwork features Elsa riding a white horse and Anna on a brown reindeer. The visuals were crafted by artist Britney Lee.
The Frozen franchise has been a major success, with the first film winning an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Jennifer Lee, who wrote and directed the film alongside Chris Buck, set both films in the fictional kingdom of Arendelle. The movie’s iconic song, “Let It Go,” also won an Academy Award.
The original Frozen premiered in 2013 and was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale The Snow Queen. Upon its release, the film grossed an astonishing $1.28 billion (approximately €1.17 billion), making it the fifth highest-grossing film of all time at that point. Today, it ranks as the 22nd highest-grossing film.
