From intern to CEO: Nike appoints new ceader

Elliott Hill, who first joined Nike as a student intern in 1988, has been named the new CEO of the sports giant.

After more than three decades with the company, Hill has held various roles, steadily rising through the ranks. He replaces John Donahoe, who has decided to step down in October after four years at the helm. According to Business Insider, Hill’s annual base salary will be $1.5 million (€1.3 million).

Hill’s journey with Nike spans 32 years. He began as a sales representative intern and steadily advanced in the company’s economic sectors.

In 2006, he became Vice President for Global Markets and later took on several leadership roles in commerce. On October 14, Hill will officially take over as the CEO of the iconic brand.
