Kim Kardashian regularly visits U.S. prisons to discuss rehabilitation programs and justice reform with inmates.

On Saturday, Kim Kardashian visited a prison near San Diego, California, where she met with a group of inmates, including notorious murderers Lyle and Erik Menendez. This visit was reported by Variety.

Kim was joined by her sister Khloe, mother Kris Jenner, film producer Scott Budnick, and actor Cooper Koch, who portrays Erik Menendez in the upcoming Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

The Menendez brothers were sentenced to life in prison without parole in the 1990s for the 1989 murders of their parents. Erik recently criticized the series, claiming it misrepresents the brothers’ characters. “It pains me to say that I believe Ryan Murphy cannot be so naive or inaccurate about the facts of our lives without malicious intent,” Erik said in a statement posted on social media by his wife, Tammi Menendez.

Kim’s visit to the Menendez brothers had a personal significance. “I grew up right down the street from where it all happened, and we all went to the same schools,” she said, adding that she would not oppose any future contact if the brothers reached out to her.
