The authorities worked with the residents to stay indoors, closure schools and clean the debris after severe floods.
A powerful storm hit the Greek island Parose on Monday, forcing broad floods and officials to close schools, while restricting all transportation except emergency vehicles, AP reports.
Heavy rainfall triggers severe floods in popular tourist destinations such as Parikia and Naousa, where roads intensified rivers, overcome cars and caused significant damage. Fortunately, there is no injury so far.
The officials sent emergency SMS alerts and urged the residents to stay indoors. The island schools were ordered to be closed by Tuesday, while the crew worked to clean the rubble, with fallen rocks, and to save the stranded motorists.
The weather warnings for nearby islands have also been issued in the Ciclads Islands, which is located in the south -east of the mainland Greece.
