The Battlefield game series has been with us for almost 22 years and has risen to become the main competitor to Call of Duty. It has had its peaks and valleys, but in recent years, the valleys seem to be increasing, as evidenced by the disappointing Battlefield 2042. This release arrived in a poor technical state, plagued by numerous graphical glitches, with gameplay that hardly progressed anywhere. Players have also been clamoring for a single-player campaign, a demand that could be met with the arrival of the new Battlefield, as commented on by Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson. He expresses extreme satisfaction with the work done and notes that the largest number of employees in the series’ history are working on this new installment. Besides DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and potentially Motive Studio, with their expertise, are also contributing to the game, with the possibility of creating a single-player campaign. Wilson also mentions that we will see “interconnected multiplayer and single-player” as part of a larger Battlefield universe, confirming that it will be a Live Service title.
Finally, he added that during visits to the various studios, he had the opportunity to play the new game, expressing his enthusiasm. This indicates that the game has entered an advanced stage of development, and its unveiling may not be far off, possibly coming in the summer during the EA Play conference.
