With his performance, he defeated the Austrian champion, who flew more than 250 meters in 2017. The Asian competitor has a lead of almost 40 meters over him.

Japanese ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi broke the world record. He managed to take off so strongly that he flew an incredible 291 meters. Originally aiming to surpass the 300-meter mark, this achievement still earned him the title of world champion, as reported by the Japanese team on social media X.

The previous record was set by Austrian skier Stefan Kraft in 2017, who flew 253.5 meters. The new record holder from Japan has an advantage of almost 40 meters over him.

The jumper attempted to break the record for several days. He managed to surpass the Austrian already on Tuesday when he jumped 256 meters. On Wednesday, he further increased his score by nearly 40.
