Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the first official images of the Inster, its new A-segment subcompact electric car, which will also be available in Europe.
The manufacturer promises an affordable model that will directly compete with the Citroën ë-C3 and Dacia Spring electric vehicles. Although still speculative, preliminary reports suggest that the Inster might be priced at around 20,000 euros.
The name “Inster” is derived from words such as “intimate” and “innovative,” but it also references the Korean gasoline model Casper, introduced in 2021 and sold with internal combustion engines in the Korean market. Hyundai aims for the Inster to set new standards in range, technology, and safety features within the smallest electric vehicle segment. Whether the manufacturer’s claims hold true will be revealed in a few weeks.
The world premiere of the Inster will take place at the Busan International Mobility Show at the end of June. In the Korean market, it will be sold under the name Casper Electric.
The first official images reveal a robust yet compact SUV profile with distinctive LED daytime running lights, pixel graphics for the indicators, and rear lights that define the design of this new subcompact electric vehicle.
Hyundai also states that the maximum range of the new electric car on a single charge (according to WLTP) is up to 355 km.
