Japanese ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi has set a new world record. He managed to launch so powerfully that he flew an incredible 291 meters. Although he initially aimed to surpass the 300-meter mark, this performance still earned him the title of world champion, as reported by the Japanese team on the social network X. The last record was set by Austrian skier Stefan Kraft in 2017, who jumped 253.5 meters. The new record holder from Japan now leads by nearly 40 meters. This record was made possible by Red Bull, the sponsor of the Asian jumper.

They built a bridge with an exceptionally long approach at their own expense in the Icelandic venue Hlidarfjall.
