George R. R. Martin, the author of the original A Song of Ice and Fire series, has already previewed all six planned episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

While the prequel is slated for release this year, Max has yet to announce an exact premiere date. “I’ve seen all six episodes (the last two still in rough cuts), and I really enjoyed them,” Martin shared on his blog.

He praised the casting choices, saying, “Dunk and Egg have always been my favorites, and the actors we’ve found to portray them are simply incredible.”

Martin also complimented the supporting cast. “Just wait until you see Laughing Storm and Tanselle Too-Tall,” he added enthusiastically.

Such high praise is rare from Martin, who is famously critical of adaptations of his work. He has often stated that screen versions will never surpass the original books.
