British actor and comedians are known for films like Nick Frost, Hot Faz (2007) and Sean of the Dead (2004), allegedly ready to play the role of cute half-wisdom Hagrid in HBO’s new Harry Potter series. According to Deadline, he will already join influential artists, which will include John Lithgo as a dumbbildor, Janet McTare as McGonagal, and Pappa Essidu as Snap.

Casting clue spark fan speculation

While HBO has not yet confirmed the news, Frost’s Cryptic Instagram Post said, “This is happening. It is actually happening,” the Reddit speculated among fans. Deadline, a reliable source for exclusive industry news, has been the only outlet to report on its casting so far.

If the rumors come true, Frost will step into the heavenly Robbie Coltraine shoes, who originally depicted Hagrid and died three years ago. However, fans will have to wait a bit to see him in action – the series is expected to premiere at the end of 2026 or in early 2027.

Earlier, Frost will appear in a live-action remake to train your dragon to set for release in June.
