The next installment in the Fakjú series is set to take a fantastical turn.
Departing from the previous focus on a philandering teacher, the new film titled “Chantal in Fairyland” will feature the character Chantal, who transforms into a radical princess and a bit of an influencer.
This sequel will blend elements of fantasy and fairy tale. Chantal aspires to Instagram fame, yet her following is limited to just 300 people. In pursuit of social media stardom, she and her best friend Zeynep try a trick that unexpectedly transports them into a magical realm.
Initially, their new surroundings don’t faze them much. They take advantage of the whimsical setting to create unique content for their followers, capturing the eccentricities of princesses, clumsy princes, and even encountering dragons and flying carpets.
However, the fairy tale world presents its own challenges. As their phone batteries begin to drain, Chantal and Zeynep realize they might be trapped in this enchanting land. How will they find a way back?
In March, Germany saw the premiere of a spin-off featuring one of the students of the iconic teacher from the original Fakjú series. The film performed exceptionally well, grossing $6.2 million and becoming the most profitable German film since 2019, a year that highlighted the success of “Perfect Secrets.“
