Netflix is planning to remove several classic films from its library. Here’s how long you have to watch these favorites before they disappear.
Christmas Classics and Dramas
Even though Christmas is still months away, many enjoy the adventures of young Kevin, who finds himself home alone during the holiday season. You can watch the Christmas classic Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York on Netflix only until the end of July. After that, these films will no longer be available on the streaming platform.
Also available until the end of July are the drama Babel, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, and the action film The Peacemaker, featuring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman.
Upcoming Expirations
You have until August 6 to watch the iconic fashion drama The Devil Wears Prada. A sequel to this cult favorite is currently in the works, set nearly 20 years after the original. Meryl Streep stars as the formidable magazine editor Miranda Priestly, with Anne Hathaway as her assistant-turned-journalist, Andrea.
Netflix will also bid farewell to the comedy Duplex, starring Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore as a couple living in their dream apartment, but dealing with an unbearable upstairs neighbor.
Mid-August Departures
From mid-August, you won’t find the Jurassic Park series or the Oscar-winning film Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe, which also has a sequel in development. Other films leaving include the action movie 47 Ronin with Keanu Reeves and The Mummy featuring Tom Cruise.
Romantic Comedies and Animated Films
In terms of romantic comedies, Netflix will part ways with One Fine Day, Scent of a Woman, and Stepmom starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. Additionally, animated favorites like Madagascar, The Boss Baby, and The Secret Life of Pets will also be removed.
Make sure to catch these beloved films before they leave Netflix.
