Heathrow Airport saw a record-breaking number of passengers in August, with nearly eight million travelers passing through its terminals. The surge in numbers was partly driven by Taylor Swift’s concert tour.

In August, the UK’s largest airport handled 7.97 million passengers, marking a 5.5% increase compared to the same month last year and setting a new all-time high. The airport also set a daily record on August 18th, when it processed around 269,000 travelers.

Heathrow is on track to set a record for the entire summer season, running from June to September. It is expected that more than 30 million passengers will pass through its terminals during this period, making it the first summer where the airport surpasses that milestone.

Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Heathrow Airport, stated that the airport has broken multiple records over the past four months, with significant contributions from destinations in Greece, Spain, Italy, and Turkey.

Additionally, August’s numbers were boosted by Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour in London, which brought an extra 40,000 passengers to Heathrow.
