Netflix once again proves it doesn’t need to try too hard to draw in viewers. This time, it’s a German action film that’s taken the platform by storm.
“Sara, a former special forces operative, goes on a relentless mission to find her son after he vanishes from the U.S. consulate only to uncover a dark conspiracy along the way.” That’s the premise of Exterritorial, the new Netflix original that’s been dominating the streaming charts for several days now.

The film’s popularity has even pushed it ahead of fan favorites like The Last Aristocrat and the action-packed Havoc, starring Tom Hardy and directed by Gareth Evans, the filmmaker behind the cult hit The Raid.
Despite its strong viewership numbers, Exterritorial hasn’t received glowing praise from critics. On IMDb, it holds a modest score of 5.8 out of 10. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, critics have largely ignored it, while audiences have given it a lukewarm approval rating of 42%.
