Nobody Wants This has just premiered on Netflix, starring Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and Justin Lupe. The show follows the story of a newly single rabbi and an outspoken podcaster who hosts a show about sex and is a non-believer. Despite leading very different lives, both deal with their intrusive families. This romantic-comedy series explores their evolving relationship.
As they flirt and grow attracted to one another, there’s an obvious obstacle standing in the way of their happy ending: Noah, the laid-back rabbi, faces resistance from his mother because Joanne isn’t Jewish. This leads to complications and challenges as they try to figure out their future together—if they even have one.
The story was inspired by the life of creator Erin Foster, former star of Barely Famous and current co-host of The World’s First Podcast with her sister. The series also nods to millennial favorites like Gossip Girl.
