Robert Pattinson loses limbs in the new trailer for sci-fi film Mickey 17

Warner Bros. has released the trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film directed by Oscar-winner Bong Joon Ho.

The sci-fi thriller is based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. Robert Pattinson stars as Mickey Barnes, a member of a team tasked with colonizing an icy planet. When Mickey dies during a mission, a new version of him is created, retaining most of his memories.

In addition to Pattinson, who repeatedly loses limbs and dies in the action-packed trailer, the film features a star-studded cast including Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.


The release of Mickey 17 has been delayed several times. Originally slated for March 2024, the premiere has now been moved to January 2025. According to Variety, the change was made to secure the IMAX format and allow more time to complete the film, which faced delays due to Hollywood strikes and production issues.

Mickey 17 marks a significant step for Bong Joon Ho following his monumental success with Parasite, the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. The highly anticipated Mickey 17 will hit theaters on January 31, 2025.
