Tesla Misleads People: Entire Team Could Face Prison.

Dustin Moskovitz, co-founder of the company and social network Facebook, now operated by Meta, did not mince words in his criticism of American car manufacturer Tesla, as reported by Futurism. According to Moskovitz, this electric car specialist is responsible for a massive customer fraud, and those responsible could end up in prison.

The Controversial Autopilot Issue

On the social network Threads, also run by Meta, Moskovitz compared Tesla to the company Enron, which went bankrupt in 2001 after being involved in one of the largest frauds in history. In this case, Moskovitz points to a chart indicating that Tesla’s autopilot, known as the FSD system, has already logged a billion miles.

He compares this chart with new infographics released during the quarterly financial result presentations, where the data is presented in a misleading way. Moskovitz argues that Tesla should have presented the profit from an undelivered product, such as an annual fee, as revenue from the broader availability of the Autopark feature, which, though previously accessible, was only available on a limited basis as part of FSD.

According to Moskovitz, the presented numbers are inflated, and it remains uncertain how the situation will unfold. It is undeniable that Tesla continues to face various problems that seem to be growing stronger, and in recent weeks, the company has also lost three senior officials, one of whom left during the financial results discussions.

Profits Have Drastically Fallen

As NPR further mentions, the company’s profits have fallen by 55%, and lately, it has encountered several problems. These also concern the electric pickups Cybertruck, which is not very surprising. However, many were displeased by the uncertainty surrounding the long-touted cheaper model, also known as Model 2.

It is still uncertain if and when Tesla intends to introduce this model, and the situation was not helped by Musk, who confirmed this model during interviews, albeit in a vague and uncertain manner. If there is something that investors can still look forward to, it is the robotaxi service, which Musk has mentioned for several years. This service would utilize autonomous driving of Tesla electric vehicles to create a robotic taxi service—though a truly reliable autopilot is still a long way off.
