The second half of Season 5 premieres on Paramount Network on November 10.
“They’ve all forgotten who runs this valley,” warns John Dutton (Kevin Costner) at the start of the trailer, highlighting his unwavering commitment to protecting his family’s legacy. But will Costner’s character actually be front and center for the rest of Season 5? While new marketing suggests so, it might not be the case.
To recap, Season 5 premiered on November 13, 2022, with its second half arriving almost two years later. The delay was partly due to the packed schedule of creator Taylor Sheridan, who has been writing, producing, and directing multiple other shows and films. The Hollywood strike, which brought production to a halt for nearly six months, also contributed to the delay.
During that time, much has changed. The biggest news for Yellowstone fans is Kevin Costner’s decision to leave the role of John Dutton to fulfill his long-time ambition of creating his own epic Western saga, Horizon.
