Shout out to The Simpsons because if they hadn’t written that episode, we probably wouldn’t be doing this,” says B-Real.
The London Symphony Orchestra is set to perform tracks from the legendary album “Black Sunday” by the American hip-hop group Cypress Hill at the Royal Albert Hall. This event brings to life a joke from a Simpsons episode aired 28 years ago, as reported by the BBC.
The orchestra will deliver renditions of iconic songs such as “Insane in the Brain” and “I Wanna Get High.” B-Real, a member of Cypress Hill, expressed the significance of this collaboration: “We’ve talked about this for years since that Simpsons episode first aired. It’s incredibly special for us, especially coming on the 30th anniversary of our album ‘Black Sunday.’ We’ve played at many historic venues throughout our career, but nothing as prestigious as this.”
“Shout out to The Simpsons because if they hadn’t written that episode, we probably wouldn’t be doing this,” added the musician.
Maxine Kwok, a violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra, highlighted the cultural importance of the event. “People are excited about the idea of diverse musicians collaborating on one stage,” she said. Kwok, who grew up in the ’90s, fondly remembers the Homerpalooza episode where the joke originated.
