According to recent reports, cocaine is to blame for the death of the famous Argentine footballer.

Various international media outlets are reporting on the new circumstances surrounding the footballer’s death. According to the British Sun, eight nurses and doctors who cared for Maradona in his final hours could face up to 25 years in prison.

Maradona suffered a heart failure following a brain surgery in 2020 and died at the age of 60 in his home in Buenos Aires. However, the sudden cardiac failure did not satisfy the forensic doctor Pablo Ferrari, who claims an external cause was responsible, reports Daily Mail.

In this case, he refers to drugs, likely cocaine. Maradona had long battled alcohol and drug addiction. His psychiatrist, Augustina Kosachova, is among the accused doctors. “There could have been two causes: one natural and the other the ingestion of a toxic substance,” her lawyer told the Sun.
