Here’s how Hiccup will appear in the live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon.

The beloved animated trilogy How to Train Your Dragon, which tells the heartfelt story of the friendship between young Viking Hiccup and his dragon Toothless, is about to take on a new form. Director Dean DeBlois, who helmed all three animated films, has embraced the ambitious challenge of bringing these beloved characters to life in a realistic, live-action adaptation.

The role of Hiccup, the Viking who defies his people’s prejudices against dragons, will be played by Mason Thames. According to DeBlois, Thames perfectly captures Hiccup’s unique blend of vulnerability and awkward charm, qualities that define the character.

The transition to live-action promises a more immersive experience, featuring lifelike dragons, including Toothless, rendered with cutting-edge realism. Action-packed scenes, such as battles with dragons, aim to bring a more serious emotional depth to the film.
